Simmons Mill Pond is a unique body of water nestled in the hands of Nature and garnished by the beauty of huge cypress trees. The dark water, characteristic of many ponds throughout Southeast Georgia, holds the secret of uniqueness to produce and support the large variety and quality of fresh water fish and especially Big Large Mouth Bass. Nothing has ever been required except total dependence of God’s blessings through Mother Nature. No artificial fertilizer, additives or other nutrients to stimulate reproduction or growth have ever been used in Simmons Mill Pond.
Two very large and heavily wooded water sheds alone with many natural springs assure the pond of a clean water supply not afforded by most ponds.
The seasonal exchange of migrant water fowl and other birds combined with the abundance of fish is a testament to the quality of water as required to produce such uniqueness as enjoyed by Simmons Mill Pond.
Through our limited number of annual memberships, you are invited to Fish and enjoy the surrounding beauty and wildlife, for it will capture your interest, lift your spirits and make your memories.
Only time will tell, for you might be the one that answers the question that has been asked many times over these 150 years. That is, “just how big will a Bass grow in this deep dark water of Simmons Mill Pond?”
It is the prayer of the Simmons Mill Pond family that you will share your discovery with a child that will benefit greatly from a “falling in love” with what Nature has to offer.”
